What is CrossFit:
CrossFit is a combination of Olympic weightlifting, body weight movements and metabolic conditioning. It's high intensity workouts that push you to the next level. It's what most people would relate to as circuit training. For the general population you would consider running on the treadmill for 30 minutes "Cardio". The difference is running on the treadmill for 30 minutes doesn't help you burn calories for 48 hours. With our circuit training, "CrossFit" you'll tap in to what is called EPOC (Excessive Post Oxygen Consumption). Exercise that consumes more oxygen burns more calories! In fact doing CrossFit you will continue to burn calories (body consuming oxygen to recover) for up to 48 hrs after you leave. Circuit training and heavy resistance training with short rest intervals require ATP from the anaerobic pathways, leading to a significant EPOC effect! We can promise you this, once you start CrossFit you will surely never go back! We are a team who encourages and supports one another. Much like a sports team. We all chose CrossFit for different reasons. Some of us may choose it so that we can be quicker more explosive with sports outside the gym, or even for total body transformation. Some choose it so that they can eat what they want and enjoy the foods they love. But most choose it because they love the results and want to live a healthier life style.
What Does each class look like?
Much like personal training. You have a certified coach with you during the whole hour. Your coach will instruct the class through warm-up, strength & skill and then the workout. Everyday you come in, you will be reminded of the proper technique for all the movements and also ways to modify. You will never be left alone and you will always be corrected and instructed. Safety is our number one focus during class. We do all the programming. It is very rare you see a repeat workout. If one shows up its intentionally to test your growth and improvement!
The Bootcamp program we offer is based on building endurance, burning calories and essentially moving as hard as you want for a full hour. This is a great class if you prefer to circuit train with dumbbells rather than barbells. Men are always welcome but 99% of this class is women! Its a group of hardworking amazing ladies who have built some solid relationships together and welcome any new addition!
Our Weightlifting Club program provides a training program for those who want to focus on Strength and Olympic Lifting. We offer this program to all our members. Athletes/Members come for additional training to dial in their form. Some also come because they have goals to compete. Athletes will receive focused and individualized programming.
